This, the one and only album by Stinky Winkles, was recorded at a live concert in Wroclaw in 1981. The band was not aware it was being recorded, nor was the title of the album chosen by us, although (sorry to say) I did entitle the final track Hysterical Woman (I was young!). At this point, the band (formed by Veryan and myself) had been together for about four years, which I think shows in some of the better moments, of which there are many. Being a live TV recording (I think), the sound balance is quite poor in places, especially as regards Veryan's acoustic piano, which is a shame, but I think the recording still captures the energy, intensity and uniqueness of the band. As is evident, the audiences in Poland at that (very harsh) time were incredibly appreciative, knowledgeable, and receptive...and incredibly big!! We certainly appreciated that.

I have re-EQ'd and enhanced the original recording as best I can, but at the moment it is in glorious mono until I get the tech to do a stereo version. But don't let that put you off, it's a good sound and (if you buy!!) you will also have access to the stereo version once I get that together, which I will in the near future. In the meantime: enjoy!!
