This album is a sample of the more 'avant-garde' end of what I play. But what is the avant-garde? The answer will no doubt vary depending on the context. To put it another way, the music here is close to, on, or over the edge of what is generally considered the norm for the pedal steel guitar, but then again, every player's and every listener's edge has a different location...so who knows? Whatever or wherever it is, the music here remains a central part of my own exploration of the pedal steel guitar and its infinite possibilities.
